Egypt’s Raxon makes his Truesoul debut with a searing four-tracker.
The talented DJ/producer has been a marked man on Adam Beyer’s musical radar ever since his stunning remix of Noir & Olivier Giacamotto’s ‘Reste’ landed during the summer of 2016. His productions have elsewhere found a home on Diynamic, Noir, Tronic and more recently Ellum, reinforcing his ability to craft powerful techno that still retains an emotive edge.
His maiden outing for Truesoul is masterful. ‘Fobidden Quest’ is seven minute of low-end muscular bass that’s heavy on peak-time rush. ‘Orix’ is continues in this vein and is a groove-ridden bass-heavy gem. ‘Flight Call’ demonstrates his musical breadth, providing an interlude from the dancefloor with an immersive ambient work. The EP is rounded out with ‘Heliopolis’, the EP’s title track named after Raxon’s hometown. It’s a stirring composition driven by uplifting pads, tension-building bassline melodies and a laser-kissed build up.
