After delaying the release from back in April Ryan Leslie finally releases his album Black Mozart today after teasing on facebook that “THIS WEEK IS THE WEEK” The album is made up of 12 tracks and includes a feature from rapper Fabolous on the track Green. Instead of releasing the album via Itunes he has released it on his #renegades site where you can become a member for $12 and this gets you the album to download as well as allowing you to contact him via email and other benefits.
My personal favourite from the album is Higher which has an addictive and bass heavy beat with lyrics like “Money in Belize that’s a tax haven” While the album isn’t the most Lyrical and does mainly consist of Ryan Leslie telling us about his wealth the production is the main point to this album and unlike previous releases that where mainly produced by Ryan himself, this isn’t. This is both good and bad depending on your style in music and those who where drawn to him from his Studio videos showing his skills as a musician playing each instrument and seeing a song progress from the basics to the finished article.
No stream for the album due to it being a purchase only release so purchase via his #renegades site. However you can catch the Documentary for the album which includes studio footage and some songs enjoy!
